Tutor: Chris Depoian grew up hearing his dad play guitar around the house and at live shows. He “caught the bug” around age 13 in 1999 and hasn’t stopped playing since! Right around that time he encountered God in a real way and has been a Christian ever since, as well. He’s been teaching guitar and other instruments since 2003 and received his Bachelor of Arts in Music at North Central University in 2008 where he studied jazz, blues, rock, classical, songwriting, and worship leading.

He’s taught nearly 1,000 lessons a year since 2011; from beginner to advanced, hobbyist to college-prep or gig-ready. He specializes in blues, rock, improvisation and songwriting. What he loves most about teaching is being able to pass on everything he has learned and continues to learn on his journey as a musician, helping students take step after step to achieve their musical goals.

As an active musician, Chris plays lead guitar for a blues-rock band, is a part of his church's worship team, and writes/performs his own songs!

Tutor:  Daniel Collins grew up in Illinois with an early love for music fostered by his mom’s work at the local Christian radio station. Having the unique opportunity to meet several prominent Christian artists at a young age left a lasting impression that culminated in a lifelong passion for music.

Daniel’s journey on the guitar began in 1997 at age 12 when he was gifted his first guitar. Motivated by a desire to play the guitar in his church youth group, he spent his early years developing his skills as a guitarist, vocalist, and pianist. Daniel would go on to lead the worship team at his youth group as well as spending his high school years leading a traveling worship team that would provide worship for youth conferences and events around the Midwest.

In college his studies included refining his overall musical skills while having an emphasis on classical guitar training. He started providing guitar lessons in college at North Central University in 2005 as part of a program to provide free lessons to kids in the inner city community. His teaching journey continued in 2008 when he started providing private guitar instruction at a church in the Chicago area where he also lead worship until relocating back to Minnesota in 2019.

Daniel has a background in rock, pop, classical, blues, and worship styles. His passion is to see his students grow not just as guitar players, but as musicians.
